Some of the world’s smartest people have changed their careers/focus from physics to focus on Artificial General Intelligence/Ai research:
- Prof Max Tegmark is a famous theoretical physicist, who instead ended up founding IAIFI, who got funded 20 million usd to focus on the intersection between Ai and Physics:
2. Dr. Suzanne Gildert is a famous quantum engineer who worked for Dwave, who instead started an Agi company called Kindred Ai
3. Another example is that chip makers have been leaving behind the old Von Neumann architecture in computing for a while now, with more focus on parallelizable frameworks i.e. reasonably more brain like frameworks, like tpus, vpus, and neuromorphic chips.
4. The above is reasonably no surprise, especially when human level ai/Agi is likely humanity’s last invention, a type of meta solver to reasonably solve most of humanity’s issues, including the hardest Math problems, Physics problems, …. reasonably the entire landscape of cognitive thinking. Once Agi emerges, it would reasonably be better at improving itself than Ai researchers, and exponentially self improve leading to a point in computing/ai called the singularity.
